Gauge / Fit Notes
E-wrap stitch = stretchy, looser fit
U-wrap or flat stitch = tighter, more fitted
If your hats come out too big, switch to U-wrap or use fewer pegs.
Pattern
1. Cast On
Use E-wrap cast on
Wrap all pegs once, then knit off
2. Brim (2–3 inches)
Choose ONE option:
Option A: Folded Brim (warm & stretchy)
Knit 20–24 rows in E-wrap
Fold brim up later when finished
Option B: Ribbed Brim
Repeat for each row:
Knit 2 pegs, purl 2 pegs
Knit 10–12 rows
3. Body of Hat
Knit 25–30 rows using:
E-wrap (looser/slouchy) OR
U-wrap (neater/fitted)
Try 25 rows for a fitted beanie, 30+ for slouchy.
4. Decrease & Bind Off
Cut yarn, leaving a 12–15 inch tail
Thread yarn through needle
Run yarn through each loop, removing pegs as you go
Pull tight to close the top
Knot securely and weave in ends
5. Finish
Fold brim if you made a folded brim
Add pom-pom if desired
Size Adjustments-
Smaller adult/teen: Use fewer pegs (36–38)
Larger adult: Use all 41 pegs + E-wrap
Bulky yarn: Reduce rows by 5–8
