Knitting Machine Hats- Single Layer Size Teen/Adult Pattern
Here is what you need to make a single layer hat on a knitting machine
Size of hat Teen/Adult
• Knitting Machine ( 48 needles is my knitting machine if you have 46 needles that works as well )
• Yarn ( 4 weight medium works best )
• Yarn needle
• Scissors
• Measuring Tape
Sentro Knitting Machine has 48 needles
Addi Knitting Machine has 46 needles
I did around 75 rows for the hats
Each yarn weight and yarn brand will make your row count a little bit different to get around 10 inches or so. I like my hats around 10 to 11 inches.
First I cast on going forward and backwards on the needles ( it should look like one needle on the hook with yarn and next is skipped because the yarn goes behind the hook )
After you cast on all needles slowly crank your first few rows to make sure it stays secure and no dropped stitches. Next you will crank your rows until you reach around 75 rows and you will be ready to cast off. To cast off you will crank a row without yarn to be able to cast off easier ( I prefer doing it this way ) Cut off a tail ( Circumference of circle ) thread your yarn needle and go in between the two groves with your yarn needle ( do this for all the needles ) Finally grab your hat and pull it to form your top part of the hat ( sew together to close the hole and tie off to secure it ) Your tail from the beginning from when you first started just weave that in and your finished! ๐
